Dice Like Thunder Update

|
For those of you that follow Dice Like Thunder podcast here is the latest update from them:

"This is the final release of Dice Like Thunder.

A sudden issue has crept up and forced us to no longer produce DLT. This was completely unplanned, unexpected and unavoidable. There is no in-fighting between current cast members and we are all still very good friends. We realized it was time to start a new podcast that incorporates the lessons learned by the hosts while working on DLT.

In early November, we will be starting a new podcast called The Eternal Warriors. As you can imagine, it will be a podcast about Warhammer 40K, Warmachine and all things awesome! The current cast of Dice Like Thunder will return and what would have been Ep 106 of DLT will instead be Ep 1 of The Eternal Warriors. Old episodes and materials of Dice Like Thunder will be available for a short period of time. When they get removed, it will be permanent!

We can not adequately express what the fans of DLT mean to us. Over the course of 2 years, you are what has driven us to continue making DLT episodes, home brew material and explore hobby communities outside of our own. For 105 episodes, you have been incredible and we want to thank you one last time while under the DLT name."

Check them out at their new site.

Imperial Vox Cast Podcast

The Imperial Vox Cast Podcast. I don't really know what to say about these guys. Their titles don't really match what they are discussing and most of the time they only talk about it for a few minutes or so. These guys ramble a lot and they curse a lot! I'm all for cursing but when I'm listening to a podcast that appears to be about the hobby who wants to hear that but at least they warn you in the beginning about the language. The audio is a bit off and sounds a little muffled. They also discuss their games and their armies a lot, which is fine with me and about the only thing that is a plus.

I wouldn't recommend downloading this podcast if I were you guys. The Imperial Vox Cast, Dice Like Thunder and The Warbanner are all decent podcasts don't get me wrong however, we are talking about an hour to two hours of talking about armies and things like that. Some of which are Games Workshop among other table top miniature games. Pick well, I know they are free so you should definitely check out all three that I have listed on my site.

The Warbanner Podcast Review

|
This is another podcast I found the other day. Except I wasn't as big of fan of The Warbanner as I was of Dice Like Thunder. The audio was too soft and the main speaker talked a little too slowly. They also tend to ramble a bit too much as well and include strange interlude music. The Warbanner people not only talk about Games Workshop related games like Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, Blood Bowl, Battlefleet Gothic, Mordheim but games like Warmachine and Hordes from Privateer Press, Confrontation and AT-43 from Rackham games. They do have a female gamer as well but she just started playing table top games. The people from the Warbanner do try and put on a good show and they are very informative but they tend to interrupt each other sometimes.

If you look on their website they do have a pictures gallery, and you can listen to some of their current podcasts right there. A little bit about them is that, "This podcast consists of everyday gamers talking about the in and out of the gaming world. We take a look at the top resellers in the gaming industry. Our Podcast will cover new releases of models that hit the shelves. We’ll discuss topics that are making headlines. And finally we’ll take the fight to the tabletop and see how they preform on the battlefield." The people who make this possible are Philip Johnson, Mike T., Jim E. and Lady Rain. Don't get me wrong it's really not that bad and they do cover a lot of material.

Dice Like Thunder Podcast Review

|
I went looking for Warhammer Podcasts the other day and I came across Dice Like Thunder. They seem like they know what they are talking about and describe things to their listeners very well. They talk very clearly and they don't ramble. The podcast is approximately an hour and a half long depending on the topic. They also attempt to further explain things, like in one of the ones I was listening too one of the guys didn't know something or needed further explanation and the other guys were on top of it to answer his question effectively and to the point. So they tend to stay on topic most of the time and they also have special guests on occasion.

Their website also contains Campaign settings and Missions for 40K as well. They are very good and since podcasts are free there is no reason not to check them out.
