Vampires vs. Skaven

This was the first game we played that all of the miniatures were painted.  I lost a lot of terrain in Hurricane Sandy so we had to redo the entire board and all of the terrain.

We played a take and hold battle of sorts.  It wasn't a scenario from the book we just pulled it out of our heads.  Basically we had to reach each others strongholds.  Skaven had the watchtower and the Vampires had a castle.

Unfortunately I only lasted about 3 turns before Zacharias the Everliving and his dragon started wreaking havoc.  Not too mention she has a lot more wizards than I do.

I have a Dark Elves army I'm working on currently so hopefully that will even the odds a little bit.

Dark Eldar Hellions

My Dark Eldar Hellions. The Hellions are the airborne killers of the army. They descend upon their prey in a flurry of hooked blades before hurtling away to safety. They ride to war upon their skyboards, single-pilot anti-gravity boards, and pump their systems full of combat drugs. A Tip on Painting your Dark Eldar

Don't know what color to paint your brand new Dark Eldar. Well here is a quick tip. Happy painting.

-The Kabal of the Poisoned Tongue: Armour is done with a base coat of Necron Abyss. The Flayed skin is a base coat of Tallarn Flesh, the bodysuit is a base coat of Chaos Black. The Rifle casing is a base coat of Chaos Black again and the rifle detailing is a base coat of Tin Bitz. The Metal work is a base coat of Boltgun Metal. The green detail is a base coat of Dark Angels Green and the Bone is a base coat of Scorched Brown.

That's just an example. Things can get a little complicated depending on how detailed you plan on getting. I choose a blue and black paint scheme but by all means feel free to come up with your own. Remember this isn't Dungeons and Dragons or the WH40K RPG you don't need a background story for your army. Painting is supposed to be fun. If you are looking for more examples though you may want to go to the GW website.

The Baal Predator

More Dark Eldar to Come

So Dark Eldar players do you want more? Well here comes more:

Hellions are savage airborne terrors. With the Hit And Run special rule, they swoop into an enemy cluster, killing with their hooked weapons, before scattering quickly into the darkness. They are priced at $24.75 and is set to release November, 20th.

The Ravager is a heavily armored, fast-moving gunship, which at cruising speed can still fire all its weapons. It is upgraded with an aethersail, which allows the vehicle to move an additional 2D6"; combined with its weaponry, this makes the Ravager ideal for attacking armored vehicles. It's priced at $49.50 and is set to release November 20th.

The Mandrakes are secretly feared even by other Dark Eldar. With a 5+ invulnerable save and many special rules including Fleet and Stealth, the Mandrakes are ideal for ambushing other units. They are priced at $29.75 and is set to release November 20th.

The Master Haemonculus, Urien Rakarth, is depraved and twisted. At the start of each turn he automatically heals a single Wound. His Ichor gauntlet wounds enemies on a 3+, inflicting instant death, thus making Urien Rakarth a deadly HQ choice. He is priced at $15 and is set to release November 20th.

Dark Eldar on Pre Order

The Dark Eldar live to inflict misery and death. The cruelest of all the Warhammer 40,000 armies, they are sadists without equal. Re-launched with a vicious host of new miniatures, including the merciless Wyches, elite Incubi, Reaver Jet Bikes, Raiders and a new Codex that details the depraved history of their race. Not to mention a brand new Archon and Lelith Hesperax. The release date for these miniatures is November 6th.

Games Workshop has finally announced the arrival of the brand new Dark Eldar.

"Today at UK Games Day we announced the re-launch of the Dark Eldar and unveiled a wicked host of new Dark Eldar miniatures. There you have it straight from the horses mouth. My only question is that does anyone still actually play this army? I tried them briefly and got my butt handed to my every time. Even against armies like the Imperial Guard, this army is week so I hope GW has beefed them up a little.

New Lord of the Rings Miniatures

Here are some of the newest Lord of the Rings pieces that Games Workshop will be releasing next month.

Like the Cave Drake. The Cave Drake is a formidable monster and the ultimate hero killer. Should this serpentine terror defeat an enemy hero then it will swallow them whole, killing them instantly. This piece will run you $57.75 and releases 10/16.

The Dwarves
As a warrior, the Kings Champion is second to none. Use him to slay Mûmaks and fight Heroic Duels. Flói Stonehand on the other hand has more subtle uses, able to nullify an enemy formation's special rule just when they need it most. Kings Champion will run you $33 and Stonehand will run you $12.25 with both set to release on 10/16.

Gundabad Blackshields
These are the elite Goblins. They are as strong as Uruk-hai, and thanks to suits of heavy armor and the thick shields that give them their name, as resilient as Trolls. These burly Goblins are ideal for holding your battle line together. The command squad will run you $24.75 and the regular Blackshields will run you $13.25 and once again these will be released on 10/16.
